Gosport – The Marine Town!

Gosport’s links with the marine industry go back centuries. Situated on the western half of Portsmouth Harbour, it has a long tradition of supporting the Royal Navy, as well as having a small, but thriving boat building industry and associated manufacturing companies.

In recent times the town has diversified its marine industry base into the leisure and pleasure sector and Gosport has three marinas and is home to a number of world-class marine businesses.

The marine sector already contributes significantly to the town’s local economy and there are huge opportunities in the next 5-10 years to develop this industry still further, providing job opportunities in the process.

The Gosport Marine Skills Centre seeks to provide a skilled workforce for the marine businesses in the town, ready to take advantage of the exciting opportunities for growth in the sector.
